Where creativity & technology bring events to life!
About Us
The Events Office is responsible for planning and implementing district events and coordinating facility space rentals to third-party organizations. We provide the highest level of professional and courteous customer service while delivering technical production services for live corporate and public events in a variety of venues.
Located at Harrison High School, the Cobb County School District Events Office produces dozens of high-profile, signature events, and dozens more strategic events annually while also supporting district departments and schools with special events. We also stream/broadcast over 40 live shows each year. The work of the department is well known and respected throughout the district and the local business community.
Student opportunities
The Events Office staff is comprised primarily of high school students under the leadership and supervision of a seasoned professional staff. The work they perform is multi-faceted and includes the setup and operation of equipment to supply audio, lighting, visual presentation, video production, video streaming, television broadcasting, furniture, and décor. They are also involved with graphic design, video editing, animation, and sales and marketing.
Students perform authentic tasks in a real-world, work-based environment in which results matter. Through their experiences the students develop and exhibit critical thinking and problem-solving skills while gaining leadership qualities and learning teamwork dynamics. They also use technology to access, evaluate, and communicate information. The students participate through an elective class offering and have opportunities for paid work outside the school day and during the summer.

prospective students
Acceptance into the program and employment by the district does not require any pre-requisite skills (although existing skills are valuable). Successful candidates are teachable, have a positive attitude, show maturity in their actions, are respectful and courteous, and present themselves in a professional manner.
Participation in other school activities, including athletics and performance ensembles, does not preclude a student from actively participating in this program as long as they can balance their activities and contribute to the department.
